Keranique Reviews

Anyone struggling to grow hair has tried most, if not all the products they’ve seen online, and others have even tried unconventional home remedies, just for the mane. But who can blame them? Hair looks good on you, you too! Which is why we took the time to research the wide range of healthy products hawked around.

In our search of some of the top-recommended hair regrowth products/ systems for women (and men), we came across Keranique. So, today we’re trying to figure out if Keranique is worth your money or not.

What is Keranique?

Keranique is one of the As Seen on TV hair treatments’ line promising to resolve baldness, as well as thinning hair. According to the manufacturer, Keranique is the only available Hair Regrowth Treatment solution with an ingredient approved by the FDA. This FDA-approved ingredient is also proven to be safe clinically, and it’s the one responsible for the thickening and regrowth of hair in women.

Keranique notes that while hair loss represents a natural aging process, there are treatments that could be used to fortify the follicles, thicken the existing hair, and even to encourage the regrowth of hair, in only 120 days.

Interesting? Unbelievable?

Well, we sought to find out exactly what makes Keranique stand out from other products on the market. Here is what we found out.

How Does Keranique Work?

It’s claimed that Keranique works in three-steps.

Cleansing and Conditioning (For Healthy Hair)

One of the products from Keranique’s line of products is the Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo. This shampoo is paraben-free, sulfate-free, and it’s also free of dyes. In place of these hair-damaging ingredients stealthily avoided by Keranique, the shampoo has ceramides and keratin. Keratin and the ceramides are, according to the company, powerful ingredients when it comes to the enhancement of the health of your scalp and hair. Thanks to these ingredients, you will have thicker and stronger hair.

Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo claims to further enhance the health of your hair by reducing buildup on the scalp by promoting microcirculation.

Besides the Sulfate-free shampoo, the other product in Keranique’s catalog is the Keranique Volumizing Keratin Conditioner. The main ingredient of the conditioner is Keratin, an ingredient that promises a boost in your hair’s volume, dimension, and body. In addition to keratin, the conditioner also has a specific protein which will stabilize your hair fibers, hence prevention of hair breakage.

Hair Regrowth

The manufacturer notes that the Keranique Hair Regrowth System is designed for use by women. This hair regrowth solution is specifically made for women because of their ability to use just the right strength.

This regrowth solution has 2% Minoxidil, an ingredient that promises to resolve all issues and problems around hair loss. You need to use this product twice daily. They claim that the effectiveness of the solution comes from their ability to enhance the supply of blood, oxygen, as well as nutrients to your hair follicles, making then stronger in the process, and also encouraging the regrowth of the hair.

Initially, Keranique provided droppers for this regrowth solution, but they’ve since developed the Easy Precision Sprayer as part of the items in the kit. The sprayer enhances the ease of use of the product, and it also allows you to direct the solution to the areas that need the treatment.

The idea behind the Regrowth solution is that in the same way as the process of hair loss takes time, so does the process of hair growth. In short, you shouldn’t expect overnight results – Keranique notes that you should expect results in about four months.

It’s also important to note that you will continue to lose your hair if you choose to discontinue the treatment.

Styling and Protection

What if you are only struggling with thin hair or the lack of volume? Well, if this is the case, then Keranique also has solutions for you. In fact, it offers two options/ solutions for protection and styling.

  • Option 1 – Protection and Styling

The other product in the Keranique kit is the Lift and Repair Treatment Spray. This spray is marketed as one of the simple products which will add bounce and volume to your hair, instantly. The Lift and Repair Treatment also promises to protect your hair from humidity, so no more frizz or flyaways, 24 hours after application.

Wondering ‘How could one product possibly yield all these results?’ Well, the answer is simple. According to the manufacturer, this treatment has been clinically proven to not only mend up to 96% of all split ends but also to prevent further breakage of hair. Therefore, you could use it during blow-drying, setting, holding, protecting, controlling, or finishing any hairstyle.

On top of all these, this treatment will strengthen thinning, weak, or dry hair.

  • Option 2 – Protection and Styling

If you are looking for a protective and styling treatment, Keranique also offers the Keranique Thickening & Texturizing Mousse on their website. This mousse is intended to protect your hair from heat styling tools and styles that could cause damage, dullness, and breakage.

The manufacturer further notes that this mousse features substantive flexible polymers which will help in the maintenance of your hair’s hold, volume, and body, without causing any stiffness. They claim that the solution will leave your hair smooth and it won’t weigh down things.

Despite all these (convincing) claims, we still have a number of questions that need to be answered. But the most important of these questions is this:

Does the Keranique Product Line Work?

First, let’s look at the Hair Regrowth Treatment. According to Keranique, their Hair Regrowth Treatment has 2% Minoxidil which, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is the only ingredient that has been proven to enhance hair growth by combating hair loss.

The catch, however, is that this ingredient is not unique to Keranique, contrary to the claims by this manufacturer. This concentration is found in other generic products on the market.

The other thing you should know is that Minoxidil represents the only FDA-approved product; Keranique itself is not.

Now, let’s look at the other products and claims by Keranique.

The Keranique shampoo, the conditioner, and the styling products hold a lot of promises with regards to hair growth and strengthening. Even so, these products don’t have any new or special ingredients that you could try.

It should be noted, however, that all the products sold under the Keranique name are intended for use by women struggling with hair loss or thinning hair. The shampoo seems to help fight hair loss in a way: it has peppermint oil, an essential oil that creates that tingling sensation you feel on the scalp. Peppermint oil is not included in any of the other products. Remember how Keranique noted that the shampoo would enhance microcirculation in the scalp? Peppermint oil does that.

Other than peppermint oil, the other ingredient present in the shampoo and also in the conditioner is a unique blend that includes Decyl Glucoside. This ingredient is known to offer that beautiful moisturization that is not sticky or greasy.

The conditioner, as claimed by Keranique, is gel-based with a lightweight formulation. This formulation, rather than the cream-based/ traditional formulation, will enhance your hair’s volume if it’s thinning.

The other ingredient that Keranique claims you will find in all its products is Biotin. Biotin is part of the Keranique Daily Essentials, and it’s been incorporated into the Keranique Hair Regrowth Treatment to enhance the development of thick and fuller hair. Biotin has been shown to be effective in the prevention of hair loss and the encouragement of new hair growth. Basically, these ingredients will enhance the health of your follicles.

It also contains antioxidants which enhance hair health, while offering an advanced level of protection from UV damage.

Who (or What) is Keranique?

Keranique is an established company whose products are sold in leading retailer lines like Sephora, Nordstrom, and ULTA. The company claims to have helped millions of women struggling with hair loss and thinning hair. So, you don’t have to worry about buying from a little-known brand.

Keranique’s manufacturer is International Hair Institute LLC. You might also like to know that the product has received celebrity endorsements from the celebrity Dr. Sonia Basra.

Is Keranique Worth Your Money?

You could purchase the products offered by Keranique in two different ways.

One, use the 30-days’ trial offer that is risk-free and available on the company’s website. This offer has a two-months’ worth of products with a $3.95 shipping fee. If, after those two months, you end up liking and keeping the products, you will have to pay $159.90 for the two months ($79.95/month). Doing this also enrolls you into the company’s auto-ship program for $79.95 monthly.

In the second option, you could use the infomercial offer which gives you the Keranique kit at $49.95

Pros

  • It’s available readily in retail outlets and online stores
  • It could help with hair regrowth
  • It could also improve the thickness and the volume of your hair
  • It has Minoxidil which is FDA-Approved
  • Money-back guarantee
  • Available as a full kit with four products

Cons

  • It could cause hair loss if you stop
  • It’s not cheap
  • You must agree to the auto-shipping programme

Conclusion

Keranique seems to have helped some users, but it’s also said to have caused substantial hair loss for others.

So, even though it has an FDA-approved ingredient and other beneficial ingredients like biotin and antioxidants, there is no guarantee that it will work for you.
